Events: did not see that coming
Aug. 24th, 2018 03:46 pmChatted with my neighbor a bit when I got home, as she was chillin' on her porch. She let me know what's been going on over there.
Al was out cutting the grass on the south side of the house a few weekends and, while we were chatting, he mentioned he was going to the doctor's the next day to see about his eye. Apparently, he was losing vision in the left eye. We discussed macular degeneration.
Ester let me know today it wasn't that.
He'd lost all vision in the left eye and the right was starting to go. They went to many, many doctors and one finally ordered a CT scan. The tumor was about an inch-and-a-half and growing between the eyes, just under the skull.
Or, as the doctor put it, "When did you last eat? Let's get you prepped for surgery NOW."
Once the tumor was removed, he got his vision back. Boom! Just like that.
So, scary stuff. But he can see now. He's just in post-surgery pain. Less painful than going blind, however.
