Events: the kitten whisperer
Jun. 22nd, 2018 02:57 pmSo, it looks like the little black kitten that I heard/only kinda saw on gazeebo weekend has found a home with
disgruntledgirl, which is better than his littermates did, who found homes in the bellies of buzzards.
Last night, before crashing out, I checked up on the goings-on at nextdoor.com. I'd say there's drama to be found, but I already muted those people.
However, there was one panicked post:
Found baby kitten- Urgent help needed!
I need help finding a home for this little kittens. My husband found it outside our back yard. It looks like a newborn baby kitten. I cannot keep it as I have a dog. I need someone to please come get this kitten and care for it. I really don’t know what to do with it.
If anyone can take it tonight I would appreciate it. I don’t want it to die.
The post came with two pictures of a three-week(?) old kitten in a trash can.
So here's a weird thing about nextdoor. I see posts from my neighborhood and all the neighborhoods that border mine. This poor lady was in the one north of me.
HOWEVER, there was a post earlier in the month from the one south of me where a someone said he ran an adoption\rescue agency and gave his number. I wondered why kitten-lady had not reached out to rescue-guy and realized she's never see his post because their neighborhoods don't share a border.
So, pasted his info in the replies. Also, be on the look-out for mother cat madly searching for that kitten she left right there. She was probably moving them.
Sure enough, I see today that the kitten was dropped off with rescue guy, who has a network of folks, including a lady whose cat just had a litter and they're about three weeks old.
Kitten rescued, surrogate mother found. I feel good. I even got to do it all while sleeping.
