loloteheOK, kinda joking around with a buddy about the Kittens Karamazov and how, with four of them, they’re like a little super-hero team. Dmitri is the leader and lady’s man, Alexei is the hot chick, Ivan is the giant who’s really a big softy, and Pavel is the scheming little genius.
And they solve mysteries! And their cover is a string quartet (I had the classical station on in their room the whole time they were here).
But now I’m thinking, OK, first episode, it’s just a trio and they find out there’s this really great violin player (Pavel) and want to know who he is and why he seems so familiar and it turns out he’s their half-brother (re: the novel).
And Pavel’s mentor\patron is Mr. Benjamin, a Sidney Greenstreet\Alfred Hitchcock\Burl Ives\whatever Maurice LeMarche decides - sounding antiques broker who happens to play the guitar a la Django Reinhardt (this is especially funny because Mr. Benjamin has extra fingers and Django only fretted with two) and Pavel plays with him Stéphane Grappelli style.
And both teams are on the trail of a priceless violin and Pavel betrays his mentor at the last minute and joins his (half) siblings.
And maybe we have Miss Elephi as Mr. Benjamin’s hidden sidekick who’s this Mrs. Danvers style housekeeper who’s actually a ninja who will MESS YOU UP with knitting needles or tiger-claws or something. Yeah, she’s older but JUST HOW OLD IS SHE? (flashback to Mr. Benjamin as a kitten being trained by her and a one-armed boxer (Knub) in his youth).
HAHAHA. and kittens playing string instruments (Lesse: Ivan on cello, Dmitri on viola, and Alexei on violin) and you can call the story CATGUT.
