I was talking to the roomie about Ferguson, about which he had absolutely no knowledge. I' find that odd enough, seeing as we both have internet access (hell, he has an iPhone and Pebble), but he also has a preternatural ability to ignore his surroundings.
I told him what had happened, what's been happening, and how folks online are asking, "Where are all the Libertarians? Where's the second amendment guys now that--"
"ALRIGHT, I GET IT!" he snaps.
"Dude," I say, "This wasn't even about you." And I leave the room, because what are you really going to do about that?
Mom, earlier today, thought there had been riots. I had to show her the actual news of what was going on. Sometimes, I forget all she has is NBC and CNN and not Twitter and Tumblr.
