So! A story for youuuuu.
Back in '03, a buddy I had named Kristin got herself nice and drunk at a bar. She was playing a set there and was invited back to someone's apartment afterwards. The impromptu party went OK, but then someone else showed up and Kristin decided she had to leave.
HOWEVER, Kristin was TEH DRUNK as she drove herself home. She was singing "The Rainbow Connection" and waving her left hand out the car window when she HIT SOMEONE'S REAR-VIEW MIRROR WITH HER HAND. Being a nice person, she left a note apologizing for the blood.
Back at her parents' house, she realized she'd split her hand open something fierce. She had her mom drive her to the ER and they stitched her back up, noting she could have suffered nerve damage. Yeah, much worse.
Now, to let you know, Kris played the guitar, so hurting her left hand really messed with her, as she could not form chords. She had this wacky cast on her hand for months.
Anyway, there was a birthday party and I happened to have a meat-hook that I kept in the car. We discovered that it slipped into the cast rather nicely. Strongbad jokes were made. Matt (now dead) and I got her a Trogdor piƱata for her party (big beefy arm and everything!).
Kris and I have not spoken for about 9 years. To be honest, I don't think I miss the drama and abuse.
