Casting an Apologia for you.

I just wish someone could make it all right for you. I wish someone could help you stop hurting over the past. I see that you're still bitter from being left out of the fun that night. There's no way to explain that you had become someone we didn't want there.

Damn, it must really suck to think like that. Why can't you be happy? Why can't you advance past where you were three years ago? What kind of suffering you must go through every night.

I'm sorry you feel that way about the past.
I'm sorry you had to twist things to make yourself feel better and vindicated.
I'm sorry that you never got over the issues that have caused you so much distress over the years.
I'm sorry your childhood sucked.
I'm sorry you couldn't save your relationship.
I'm sorry that your third degree was so painful for you.
I'm sorry that you can never forgive.
I'm sorry that you're unhappy.
I'm sorry you remember things that way.
I'm sorry you'll never understand that.
I'm sorry you felt the way you did and I didn't let you down in a more kindly fashion.
I'm sorry you want to be punished.
I'm sorry you are who you are now.
I'm sorry you don't care.
