I'm so mad, I can't even think about it right.

I decided, hey, there's a neat biopic about William Hartnell and what it took to get "Dr. Who" started. You know what? It was a great little drama. Hells yes, I was in it. I loved it! I was thinking, ya know, I'm going to make copies of this and give it to friends, because they would dig it. This is so good, I want to share it with people.

And then, it happened.

Everything was going along just fine, and there was a super-dramatic moment, and then fucking Matt Smith was on the screen. There we are, watching a perfectly serviceable drama about the first series of "Dr. Who" and--for some inexplicable reason--Matt Smith is on my screen.

Now, let me say this: I was raised on "Dr. Who". My very first television memory was watching "The Hand of Fear" on a black&white TV on the dining room table. OK? "Dr. Who" is MY FIRST TV MEMORY. I take this shit seriously.

So, this Christmas, I'm at Mom's and they're doing a huge countdown to "oh, boo-fucking-hoo, Matt Smith is going away". Yeah, see, I don't really care. I kinda stopped watching "Dr. Who" when Matt Smith became The Doctor because I really have no investment in manipulative bullshit.

Yeah, and so I'm gonna be a fan-boy about this. If you tell me it's a biopic of William Hartnell, and I give you an hour and a half of my time, with the understanding that it's a biopic of William Hartnell and the staff involved in first putting "Dr. Who" on the air, then you don't get to betray me at the end and shoe-horn your tenny-weeny-twee-buttfuck whatever into my story.

Would you like to know who's interested in William Hartnell? HINT: people who do not give fuck one about Matt Smith. Mention the name Terry Nation and let me squee about how Daleks are about to show up. Show me a Menoptra or two, but seriously, why did you think I wanted to see Matt Smith's stupid fucking face at that particular moment?

I really wanted to share this with folks. I really really did. But I swear, there's that few seconds that shit on everything. I don't feel good telling people to watch this, now. I feel like I have to share with a caveat of "oh, btw, 1:20 in, major blow BS."

I can take paper-mâché sets. I can take rubber costumes. I can't take exploitative bullshit.

You have lost me forever, BBC. You almost had a good thing there.

I can't trust you anymore.
