I was cleaning my desk, and thus under my desk, when I found a thing. This lead to a little adventure.

I seriously had no idea what this thing was. It looked important to something, but I could not figure out what. And then I stopped to have a smoke...

Of course! It was part of a lighter! I have two lighters by Imaco, but I stopped using one because it kept drying out. Also, the other was cheaper than dirt.

And wouldn't you know it; the part is missing.
Now, last night, there was an attempt to spot-weld the part in place with a soldering iron and that was a mighty failure due to the lack of flux in the house. However, I did have a tiny drill and a set of tiny screws and tiny nuts. Also, I think the part was pressed into place and a weld would not be able to withstand the gees of flipping open.

Drilled a tiny hole...

Found a tiny screw...

Bent a flange out of the way so it would fit...

And fixed everything in place with a tiny nut. VoilĂ ! It works as good as new!
